Melt-in-Your-Mouth Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat to 160–170°C (320–340°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter & sugar
    In a bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla
    Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt.
  5. Make the dough
    Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
  6. Shape cookies
    • Roll into small balls and flatten slightly
    • OR pipe using a piping bag for decorative shapes.
  7. Bake
    Bake for 12–15 minutes until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  8. Cool
    Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
